PostSubject: Junkie Ultimate Fighter Season One Predictions   Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:03 am

Here are the fights we have left along with my predictions......

Middleweight:
Gib Nudger v Steven Bishop

Welterweight:
Sauli Heilimo v Calros Vasquez

Middleweight:
Nicolai Vladimier v Kaleb Forrest

Welterweight:
Yallen Silver v Johan Blick

Predictions:
Gib Nudger v Steven Bishop:
- I think Nudger is very good for being 20 years old but I think Bishop will have too big of a ground advantage in this one. Nudger's only loss was by submission and Bishop only has won by submission so when you put 2 and 2 together.... this might be a sub win for Bishop.

Sauli Heilimo v Calros Vasquez:
- I don't know what is is about Sauli's name but it is cool! For some reason his morale is all the way down, I would hate to see him get cheated out of a win because he is not happy. He needs some more clothes or something. But honestly I didn't look at the breakdown until recently and Vasquez has a huge advantage on the ground I see him winning by submission and moving on to the semi-finals. Both fighters lack striking skills so it should come down to BJJ which Vasquez will win at.

Nicolai Vladimier v Kaleb Forrest:
- LOL the reason this got the main event is because Vladimier went out there and won with a freakin' concussion! But seriously this will be a great fight I think!!! Just like Sauli, he has great skills but his morale is all the way down! Vladimier is coming off a huge win and I do think his ground game is going to be hard to beat. Forrest has solid striking but Vlad has the morale and BJJ to win by submission I predict.

Yallen Silver v Johan Blick:
- Silver came in with a big win over Cross which I for one was shocked with. He looks like a very good fighter but will have his hands full with Blick. Blick has the striking advantage.... muay thai advantage.... and BJJ advantage.... ouch! Silver does hold a big advantage in the wrestling department so he should be able to control where the fight goes. If his defensive grappling skills are high I think he should be able to handle Blick on the ground but it looks like his best bet is a stand up game. Either way this will likely go to the decision I think, it will all come down to who is more aggressive and can score more points for the judges. If Silver wins this will be the biggest upset in JFC history thusfar! But right now Blick is the favorite!

Nudger vs Bishop: Nudger has lost to those Bishop has beaten. Nudger also won by a decision to someone Bishop made tap out in the first round. Nudger is good, but he is by no means "Steven Bishop", who I view to be a future legend in the sport ^^

Heilimo vs Vasquez: Heilimo is by no means horrible, he just needs to get his head out of his butt. Unfortunately, he hasn't done it for this fight, and one that he would even have troubles with if he was at his best, he will have -no chance- in this state of mind. Besides, Vasquez has been training with Yallen!

Vladimier vs Forrest: Forrest is a monster, and so is Vladimier. They are both absolute animals, and Forrest is throwing away such a huge opportunity by not focusing on his mentality, and worrying far too much on normal training. What would be an amazingly equal match up is now in the hands of Vladimier for a walk in the park.

Blick vs Silver: Blick is undefeated, like most of his managers fighters, also with all wins by submissions. In other words, the only place he can win is on the ground, in which Silver is monsterous in. I don't see Blick pulling off a submission while being punched in the face, and Silver will end up knocking Blick out!

Got the first two correct as well, in which I felt it was rather easy guesses. For the up and coming show, I also feel that it is an obvious win for Vladimier. Though, Blick vs me is going to be a real toughie!

So I wonder whos guess will come out on top ^^

If Vladamir doesnt win against forest, I myself will punch him in the balls. Its a sure shot, Vlad has the power, the bang, th mentality, and the submission to chop him.

Good luck all and fight well!

sorry man, i see blick getting it, but i hope for you.

with only 1 fight comparison, i have to use the scout to view, and i see him over skilling silver , hopefully silver gets a good punch in.

Thus far all my predictions are correct ^^
How lovely yes?

Now we have it where we are in the finals!
Truly, all the lessers are out, along with some true competition. Neither of the upcoming fights are easy for guessing.

Steven Bishop is going up against Nicolai Vladimier. Each of these are Purple Belts with Competent wrestling, and all wins coming from Submissions. Can it get any closer in a battle of a ground game?

But, I'm going to have to give my guess to Steven Bishop. Why? Because those he has faced so far seems to be tougher in competition, in my eyes at least, and he still hits 30% of his submissions! That's around 1 hitting on just three attempts while my man Vlad has it at around 10%. Bishop also has a higher transition percent, which if he keeps that up, he'll be in a much safer position on the ground. I have my fingers crossed for Nicolai.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I hope for Vlad, and he does have a chance for sure, though my guess still has to go out to Bishop by way of submission!

::::::::::::::::::::::::

The other final match is just as much of a toss up as the last, Calros Vasquez taking on me myself, Yallen Silver!

With Yallen's only true offense being on the ground, that he displayed so far, things don't look too good for him going against a brown belt. Definitly that brown belt that has an 80% ground transition rating and a 43% submission success rate. (Ground transition must be coming from his training with his partner, Yallen Wink )

Now with good buddies facing against each other, they're obviously no longer looking to help one another in this upcoming match up. Must be why vasquez has a hit on his morale, which I feel is big enough to give me, Yallen the upper hand! Yallen by way of knock out is my guess!

i would bet on bishop since he started MMA in 5-12, and is 22, compared to Nicolai, who is 18 and isnt half as trained as bishop. But I worry not. Nicolai has great potential.

As I guessed, I beat Calros (BADLY), though pulling out a decision was Main Man Vlad, which I did not expect.

That'd be my only miscalculation thus far.
